A Visit to Stockholm
Stockholm is a beautiful city located in the Southern region of Sweden and if you haven’t guessed it yet the capital!
The first time I went to Stockholm I was in awe by the architecture of the buildings. There was an old cozy feeling to the city compared to the city I’m constantly used to (cough Los Angeles cough).
However, if you plan on spending a day in Stockholm here are some places to check out while you’re there.
Museums
One of the well-known museums Stockholm has to offers is the ABBA the Museum. This place is no ordinary museum of facts and exhibition but rather an interactive museum where you can feel how it was like to be onstage. The wonderful thing about the museum is that students receive a 30% off discount with a student card.
If you’re looking for a shorter experience but want to get an older understanding of Scandinavian culture consider visiting the Vasa Museum. Its home to a 17th century warship, Vasa, and you will be amazed by how well-preserved the ship is after three centuries.
This one isn’t quite a museum but rather home to the King. The Royal Palace is the workplace is King and it gives the medieval history of Sweden. Many of the attractions are open year-round to visitors.
Gamla Stan
One of my favorite places to visit in Stockholm is Gamla Stan (Old Town). It is a touristy area but it’s a beautiful place to visit within the city. The colorful buildings and cobbled streets make you feel like you’re in a traveling movie while you’re have a fika. My little tidbit about exploring Gamla Stan is to keep an eye out for the hidden alley ways they have the best art works.
Take a lime scooter or walk to different parts of Stockholm maybe you can find the Coca Cola building or the wall of stairs that leads to a small garden at the top. The best thing about exploring the city is that it’s okay to get lost but make sure to try one of the little cafés while you’re there.
