Crayfish and Songbooksexa

  • Vastgöta Nation Västra Ågatan 18 Uppsala Sweden (map)

A new town, maybe a new country but definitely a new time and adventure. Dive head front into the old traditions looming behind every corner in Uppsala.

Västgöta Nation invites you to a Crayfish and Songbook – Sexa. And now you ask what is a songbook? What is a sexa? And why crayfish? Fear not, all will be explained.

A crayfish party is a traditional gathering in the beginning of August where, you guessed it, a ton of crayfish is eaten throughout Sweden. We're using the opportunity to introduce you to some traditional Swedish food and of course, crayfish. Finger licking vegetarian and vegan options will be provided as well.

Traditional dinners in Sweden involve a lot of singing and no student dinner in Uppsala survives without it. To give you an understanding of the whole singing thing we're explaining the songbook and introduce you to the most common songs sung in Uppsala.

This event is mainly targeting our international students.
